VR (Virtual Reality) Experience

Today we worked with Yvonne and her research team they are from the Augmented Human Lab at Auckland University. They came to our school to teach us about Virtual Reality. There are 2 different groups, one group used the VR cardboard that is interactive and the other used the Magic Window with the I pads, I used the VR cardboard. Virtual Reality is a really fun 3D device you can use, you can do all sorts of things using it like activity's and play lots of different games. The first learning challenge using the virtual reality was building the Panmure Bridge it was very fun because we got to interact with the items and it would also show and tell you how they built it and where it got shipped from. The second thing we did with the virtual reality was deliver mail to the Jones family using the punt. Once we did that we time traveled into 1966 when the Panmure Bridge was built we got to walk across it, after that we gave another letter to the family.

The Skeleton Creek: The Raven

This term for Reading we had to decide on a book to work on. I chose this book because they were another book like this so I could work with a partner, the partner I'm working with for reading is San Kyaw. The story of the book I've read has been interesting. The part I've been reading on is about them solving the mysteries of an haunted church. I think what would happened next is they find where the next clue is.

Auckland Harbor Bridge History

This week for reading we learnt about the Auckland Harbour Bridge. This bridge was built in 1932 and is made out of 5,670 tonnes of steal and 6,800 liters of paint. Did you know that the Harbour Bridge contains 6 million hand driven rivets. Are you aware that the Harbour Bridge is 1149 meters long. San Kyaw and I have collaboratively worked together to finish this DLO.

The Panmure Bridge History

This term for inquiry our topic was about Structures and Bridges. The DLO my partner San Kyaw and I created was about Panmure Bridge, and the calendars shows the year of the bridge. Did you know that the Panmure Bridge was built between 1864 and 1865. Are you aware that in 1959 11,205 cars drove across daily.

Decimal Maths

Today for math I created a DLO about using decimal maths. The question I chose to work out is 37.3 + 19.8 . This DLO shows how you can solve decimal equations, using the decimal method this was really easy to use because it is just like adding and subtracting. I have really enjoyed learning this new strategy in maths. I hope we could do it again

Tech reflection

This week is our seconded to last week for Pewter castling at Tamaki collage. Today we were all finishing off our sand paper, we just sanded our design to make it smooth so it was easy it polish it. The polishing was a bit hard because the water was going every where, and lots of us started accidentally cutting our selves. 

Sky Tower Visit

Today LS2, LS1 and room 5 visited the sky tower to learn about its features and the structures of it. Our class was split into two groups, and both groups got the chance to walk around the Sky Tower observation deck. Each groups went to three stations, the theater, the observation deck and the emergency room. Each room was apart of the sky tower and had lots of details to them. We watched several clips of the Sky Tower history, and what places you could visit. Some interesting facts I found about of the Sky Tower is that, the Sky Tower is 338 meters tall, It weighs the same amount as 6000 elephants.
